Persistence / Biodegradation: Review of Experimental Approaches and Analytical Methods for Biodegradability / Persistence Assessment of Water-Soluble and Water-Dispersible Polymers
Objective
- Investigate the applicability of current biodegradability and persistence frameworks to water-soluble and water-dispersible polymers
- Conduct a review of available standard and novel experimental methods, addressing their applicability to the assessment of water-soluble and water-dispersible polymer biodegradation
- Develop recommendations for assessing water-soluble and water-dispersible polymer biodegradability using available methods
- Identify gaps and opportunities for research to improve available experimental methods and approaches
- Disseminate the findings of the project in a peer-reviewed expert review publication
