ICCS - International Collaboration on Cosmetics Safety

Internal Exposure:  Alternative Approaches to Build a Valid PBPK Model for use in Cosmetic Human Safety Assessment.

Objective

This project will further evaluate and develop first the PK analog and PK read across concept, second a workflow to probabilistic PBPK modeling. The work will aim to extend the PK read across and the probabilistic PBPK modeling concept to multiple routes of exposure (oral, dermal, IV), different mammalian species (human, rodents), diverse chemical space, chemicals with different PK properties (e.g., primarily cleared via metabolism or renal). The work will be case study focused and the learning from the case studies will guide the development of more general guidance for the approach (e.g., flow charts, analog criteria, applicability domain).
